Crystal Smith - Theory & Piano Accompaniment
Crystal Smith is an emerging young pianist, having recently completed her Masters of Music Research at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. During this time, she also studied piano performance with Natasha Vlassenko.
Crystal regularly performs as a chamber musician and soloist in various settings and she enjoys working with musicians of all ages and instruments.
Highlights of Crystal’s music career include receiving 3rd prize in the 2021 Rocky Mountain Online Music Competition, performing Carl Vine's Piano Concerto with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra and being named a finalist in the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition in 2018, as well as being selected for the Australian Piano Showcase for the 2016 Sydney International Piano Competition.
She has also received a number of musical and academic honours, including the Conservatorium Medal, University Medal and the Owen Fletcher Postgraduate Award.
Crystal enjoys helping young people reach their musical potential, and strives to make music learning fun and informative. Crystal is available for regular and casual theory lessons and as a piano accompanist for exams, eisteddfods and performances.
