Daniel Kowalik - Violin Teacher
From 2012 - 2014 Daniel attended the University of Colorado. He completed a Professional Certificate in String Quartet Performance where he was mentored by the Takács String Quartet. Whilst at the University of Colorado, Daniel also studied with Prof. Lina Bahn, Prof. Charles Wetherbee and Edward Dusinberre.
He has performed in master classes in Australia, Europe and in the USA for a number of esteemed international artists including; Walter Verdehr, Charles Avsharian, Simon Fischer, Robert Masters, Berent Korfker, and Vadim Repin. Daniel has also taken part in the Zenon Brzewski International Music Course in Lancut, Poland.
As an orchestral musician, Daniel has toured internationally with the Australian Youth Orchestra and Sydney Youth Orchestra- performing in venues such as Berlin Konzerthaus, Concertgebouw and Royal Albert Hall. He is a former member of the Sydney Sinfonia Orchestra and has participated in Fellowship programs for the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, Daniel undertook a fellowship with the Australian Chamber Orchestra in their emerging artist program, and was mentored by the Assistant Concertmaster of the ACO, Satu Vanska. In 2012, Daniel was the only Australian accepted into the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan.
Daniel has received scholarships to attend the Australian String Academy, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the University of Colorado.
He is a winner of the Eva Malewicz Competition in 2005, and was awarded the Big Brother Music Scholarship in 2009, which allowed him to study and receive lessons at the Royal College of Music in London and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Daniel is a founding member and the first violinist of the Orava Quartet.
